The MES Board consists of individuals dedicated to assist in providing direction, experience and growth for the staff and students.

The Reverend Canon Courtland M. Moore, Priest in Charge – Rector of Annunciation and MES

 

Ann Scott Huth – President

Ann Scott Huth holds a Bachelor of Science in both Elementary Education and Home Economics with a minor in Child Development from Stephen F. Austin State University. She is certified as “Teacher of the Young Child” as well as holding a certificate in Special Education. She has over 15 years combined teaching experience in Great Falls Public Schools in Great Falls, Montana and in the Lewisville Public School District, Lewisville, Texas. During her career she served on PTA Boards, Board Leadership Teams and as team leader. She also served as the Volunteer Coordinator for Family Services at Norton Air Force Base, San Bernardino, CA. She began attending the Church of the Annunciation in 1980 and after returning to the Lewisville area joined the church in 1992. She has taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, served as a member on a Parish Committee On Vocation and as a delegate to the Diocesan Convention. She is currently the coordinator for acolytes. Her two sons, now 22 and 20 years old, attended MES. She and her husband, Stephen, currently live in Flower Mound.

Cindy Simpson-Scharff – Vice President

Cindy Simpson-Scharff has been actively involved with the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation and Montessori Episcopal School since 1997. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Montessori teaching certificate. Her experience includes ten years of pharmaceutical sales, and teaching at MES. In 2008, Cindy served as Interim Director of MES. She was a member of the MES Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2008. Her activities at Annunciation include teaching Sunday school, Children’s Chapel, First Communion Classes and Chairing the Lay Teaching Committee for Mother Mary Lessman. Cindy lives in Flower Mound with her husband, Mike, and their daughters, Annalisa and Aubrey, both MES alumni.

Michael A. Demma – Technology Chair

Michael A. Demma has been an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Annunciation since 1999. He began serving the Church as a leader in the Episcopal Youth for Christ and as a member of the Rejoice praise and worship music team. He currently teaches high school Sunday school and First Communion classes. Michael and his wife Dana have been married for 16 years. Their children, both former MES students, continue to thrive in the Flower Mound public schools. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Computer Information Systems from the University of North Texas and is currently employed as the Information Technology Manager for Systemware Incorporated.

Lara Korba – Facilities Chair

Lara Korba’s expertise is in strategy development and project management in the areas of sustainable development, corporate responsibility, the development of effective stakeholder engagement practices, and sustainable building. She has focused on project-based work for large corporations, government and NGOs, working in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. She holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, a post-graduate diploma in Business and the Environment, also from York, and an Honours BSc. from the University of Toronto. Lara and Bryan, her husband of eight years, have been parishioners at Annunciation since 2005. Their daughter, Charlotte, is a student at MES and was baptized at Annunciation in 2007.

Leslie McCarthy

Leslie McCarthy has been a member of The Episcopal Church of the Annunciation since 1999. She grew up in northwest Houston attending St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church where she and her husband, Steve, were married in 1996. Leslie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Human Resources degree from the University of South Carolina. She worked in various Human Resources management positions during her 13-year career. In 2008, she decided to become a full-time mom after the birth of her twin daughters, Victoria and Jacqueline, who began attending MES in August 2010. Leslie and her family currently reside in Highland Village.

Susan Johnson

Susan Johnson is a north Texas native who grew up in Highland Village and has been a resident of Flower Mound for ten years. She is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Dallas. She owns a floral design & décor business called Macklin Designs. She holds a BS from Southwest Texas State University and a Floral Design Certificate from Texas A&M University, Benz School of Floral Design. Susan and Christopher, her husband of eleven years are true believers in the Montessori Method of teaching and they send their daughter McKenna to MES for this reason.

Carol Dudley

Carol Dudley holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Baylor University and a Master of Arts in Experimental Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington. Carol worked as a research scientist in Neurobiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center for 32 years. Many of her research findings were published in top-ranked scientific journals. During her research career, Carol actively encouraged young students to seek careers in science by training graduate and post-graduate students and by explaining experimental findings to touring high school students. She has been a member of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation since 2008. Her grandson is currently enrolled in MES. Carol and her husband George reside in Flower Mound.
