MES employs over 27 highly trained staff members to service the needs of the students. Each lead teacher is Montessori trained. MES maintains low student-teacher ratios, which allows teacher to provide the individualized attention young minds require during early school experiences.

Deborah Herrington

Head of School, comes to MES with 30 years of experience in both private and public school settings. She is formally educated at Abilene Christian University, with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a minor in Music education. In addition she has A.M.I. Montessori training and holds a C.M.E. Montessori Certification. Since 1993 she has been the Montessori Teacher Certification Instructor for Collin County College and Brookhaven Community College. Deborah and her husband Brian are the proud parents of three children, one girl and twin boys. Deborah’s personal philosophy regarding education: “I believe that education is a lifelong process, and we are never too old or too young to learn.”

Diane Byron

Assistant Head of School, has more than 20 years of experience in Texas private and public schools. She received her teacher education from A & M. She earned a Montessori Teacher Certification for children 3 to 6 years from Brookhaven College. Diane taught on high school level and elementary as well as a two year Montessori classroom. She has also earned a childcare director certification. Diane and her husband Jerry have three children and four grandchildren!

Sarah Curtis

MES Office Manager, earned her Montessori training through MES and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Sarah worked at MES as a classroom teacher and now serves as the office manager. Sarah and her husband Doug, have two wonderful children (one MES Alumni and one a current student at MES).
