Curriculum

The MES academic curriculum is carefully planned

Our Curriculum, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, calls for the classroom to be a place of religious life where dignity and respect prevail. We provide an environment and proclaim the Word to call the child to a closer relationship with God. The environment contains materials relating to parables, prophecies, geography, and the life of Jesus. The lessons are chosen to convey the essentials of faith and the child is invited to internalize the lesson. The child’s work reflects God’s presence. Academics

Academic curriculum revolves around basic Montessori philosophy and apparatus with emphasis on learning about the world around us. Click Here to learn more about Montessori philosophy. It prepares the young students to make wise choices and adjustments to life’s challenges. For elementary students, our basic emphasis is on reading, writing, and math skills, enriched by the offering of many opportunities for exploring other areas of study and for continuing the process of discovery learning. Enrichment

Many of the classes (depending on students’ number of days in classroom) are given lessons weekly in Art, Computers, Library, Physical Education, and Spanish by experts in their field. MES also has an extensive library, which all the children regularly visit and from which the children check out books weekly. As part of each day, the children experience music and art to deepen their appreciation of the beauty and culture that surrounds us.
