Parent Involvement

The parent of a Montessori Episcopal student will have an opportunity to be involved in our program. Parents learn more about Montessori in the following way:

  • Attending meetings where the unique aspects of a particular classroom as well as the specifics of the Montessori curriculum are presented, such as your student’s orientation before the classroom school year begins;
  • Attending open houses where the children, as the host/hostess to their parents and siblings, present their favorite activities. Montessori night also offers rotating orientation meetings where different MES teachers explain the differing Montessori curricular areas;
  • Observing the class and discussing any observations with their child’s teacher. Note: You should ask your child’s teacher before entering the classroom so you will be sure not disrupt the classroom environment. Reading the newsletters that include the calendar of events, information on major developments at the school, and a list of needs and requests for help.
