The parent of a Montessori Episcopal
student will have an opportunity to be
involved in our program. Parents
learn more about Montessori in the
following way:
Attending orientation meetings to explain
the program;
Attending meetings where the unique
aspects of a particular classroom as well
as the specifics of the Montessori
curriculum are presented, such as your
student's orientation before the classroom
school year begins;
Attending open houses where the children,
as the host/hostess to their parents and
siblings, present their favorite
activities. Montessori night also
offers rotating orientation meetings where
different MES teachers explain the
differing Montessori curricular areas;
Observing the class and discussing any
observations with their child's teacher.
Note: You should ask your child's
teacher before entering the classroom so
you will be sure not disrupt the classroom
environment. Reading the newsletters that
include the calendar of events,
information on major developments at the
school, and a list of needs and requests
for help. These usually come home in
your child's Tuesday/Wednesday folder; and
In addition, Parents may join the Parent
Association which coordinates volunteer
activities, plan and carry out fundraising
programs, and lend support to school and
staff.
