"Where Children Learn to Love

and Love to Learn"

Special Class Programs at
Montessori Episcopal School

In addition to the exercises of Practical Life, Cultural, Math, and Language, as well as presentation of Sensorial and Cultural materials, the students are given lessons weekly in Music, Art, Physical Education, and Spanish.  MES also has an extensive library, from which the children check books out weekly.

We are able to offer specials for the classes depending on the hours of enrollment. Specials are not guaranteed in any class from year to year, and the Specials schedule may change due to staffing availability.

Library

We are very proud of our well-stocked library of over 7,000 books. Each class at MES goes to the library. Your child’s teacher will inform you of his or her library day. Each child will be able to make library selections once a week. The two books are sent home in a special library bag. We ask that your child hang the bag in a special place in your home each week so as not to get the books mixed in with your own.  Please send the books back in the same bag each week.  Your child will not be able to check out new books without returning the books from the previous week. You may help your child with this responsibility by encouraging them to take special care of the library books, and making sure your child returns them to his/her library bag.  Because of the library schedule and the number of children who must attend library each day, no exceptions can be made if your child’s books are late. Remember to emphasize the care and respect for books with your child. Books that are lost or destroyed must be replaced, for a fee which will be determined by the school librarian.  We are thrilled to share a love of books and reading with your child.
